Personal physiotherapy in the comfort of your own home

Healix – Community Physio Care provides personalised physiotherapy and rehabilitation for adults throughout the South Lanarkshire Council area.

The service was created to make high-quality physiotherapy more accessible to people who may find attending a clinic difficult, or who would benefit from being assessed and treated in their usual home environment.

MEET ANDREW

I’m Andrew Cruikshank, an HCPC-registered physiotherapist and the owner of Healix – Community Physio Care.

I have experience in community rehabilitation and orthopaedic physiotherapy, supporting adults with pain, reduced mobility, falls, deconditioning, loss of confidence and long-term health conditions.

Working with someone in their own home allows me to understand the practical challenges affecting their everyday life. This helps ensure that treatment is relevant, achievable and focused on what matters most to them.

MY APPROACH

I begin by listening to your concerns, assessing your movement and function, and discussing what you would like to achieve.

Your treatment plan will be tailored to your needs and may include:

• Advice and education

• Strength and balance exercises

• Mobility and walking practice

• Rehabilitation following illness, injury or hospital admission

• Pain-management strategies

• Falls-prevention advice

• Guidance for relatives or carers where appropriate

I aim to explain things clearly, involve you in every decision and provide exercises that are realistic within your own circumstances.

I will also be honest if physiotherapy is unlikely to help, if further medical assessment is needed or if another service would be more appropriate.
